MEDIA ASSISTANCE GUIDELINES

Thank you for your interest in Riviera Maya. As a courtesy to visiting journalists researching the destination, the Riviera Maya Tourism Board, provides assistance securing host assistance and/or services upon receipt of this completed questionnaire and work samples. Please note that services depend on Riviera Maya Tourism Board member availability, interest and lead-time.

To qualify for host assistance, journalists must do the following:

1. SUBMIT SAMPLES OF RECENT CLIPS (WITHIN THE PAST SIX MONTHS) OR a copy of a recent issue or broadcast segment, and a letter from editor/publisher/news director confirming the assignment to cover Riviera Maya.

2. Contact us in writing at least three months prior to your anticipated arrival date. Specify the primary focus of your story, stating clearly the assistance you require, and whether there will be an editorial mention of hotels visited, attractions, etc. If you cannot provide the information, we will be glad to refer you directly to Bureau members who may be able to assist you.

3. Send copies of any resulting articles or broadcast tapes for our files (future requests may not be honored otherwise).

POLICIES AND RESTRICTIONS

The Riviera Maya Tourism Board does not guarantee requested complimentary airfare, meals, ground transfers, tour guides or translators; does not negotiate trade-out agreements; does not guarantee complimentary or discounted accommodations; does not solicit support for one-night stopovers and advertising/sales missions. If producing fashion/catalog shoots, discounted and/or full rate accommodations apply. During high season (December 15 - April 15) and major U.S. holidays, blackout periods may apply. Blackout holidays include New Year's, President's Day weekend (mid-February), Memorial Day weekend (end-of-May), Fourth of July weekend, Labor Day weekend (early September), Columbus Day weekend (mid-October), Thanksgiving (3rd week in November) and Christmas.
